Integrating The Internet and Elementary
Reading Instruction
Here are some sites that will assist elementary teachers in using
the Internet to enhance reading instruction. Some of the sites have book
reviews children can read. Others are companion sites to books that the
children can read. Those sites often have online games and activities to
use with the books. Author sites give students insight into the life of
the author as well as the author's other works. Interactive sites allow
students to choose their own story path. Many television shows also have
companion Web sites. For younger children you will find sites that allow
them click through stories and picture books. that are read aloud on line.
There are even online word games.
