Special Tribute: 

I would like to take this space to recognize the passing of a great lady.  Vladka Meed, former smuggler and courrier during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising passed away on November 21, 2012.  Vladka was instrumental in developing the training program for teachers that I took part in during the 2006-2007 years.  Almost 1000 of us have been blessed with the experience of being chosen for her teacher training program.  It was her spirit and belief in the power of resistance in all its forms that we are now charged with passing on to our students.  I join my fellow Holocaust educators across the world whose lives have been enriched by her influence and dedication to the memory of the Shoah and its victims.  I know there is a special place in heaven for this lady who fought for the dignity of her fellow human beings during the darkest time in our history as a people.  May you rest in piece Vladka!
