Course Description: This course provides a broad overview of the field of
psychology. The student will be introduced to basic psychological
information about motivation, emotion, learning, consciousness, biological influences on behavior, research,
development, therapy, psychological health and psychological
disorders.

Six examinations will be administered during the
semester. Each exam will consist of multiple-choice
and short answer questions.

| Papers |
Each
student will write three application papers this semester. The
purpose of each paper will be to evaluate your ability to apply psychological
principles to the assignment (grammar, spelling and formatting will
be graded).
The paper will be 1½ - 2 pages
in lenght, double spaced, with twelve point font. Students will receive
a maximum of thirty-three and one-third points for each paper. The
cumulative score for the papers will be equal to one examination
score.
