Biography
I have lived in the Central Florida area for about 25 years.
I
started Valencia Community college while I was enrolled in high school
as a dual enrolled student. I had no idea what Humanities was
until I took a class required for my degree. I have always
been
interested in myths and other cultures but up until then I never
realized there was a name to that field of study.
I specialized in a Humanities focus at UCF but was not sure where to
attend next. I found an interest in the medical field and
spent
the next few years working in health-care in pediatric cardiology, the
cath lab, ER, adult cardiology, and cardiovascular research.
In
2007 I received a Masters in Liberal Studies from Rollins and have
started teaching at Valencia ever since. I recently enrolled
at
UCF to get a second Masters in Instructional Design and Technology.
My hobbies include playing video games, riding roller coasters at local
theme parks, and most recently, I have started brewing mead
(alcohol made from fermented honey) as a hobby and to give as gifts to
friends and family.
