Part 1: Readings: Byrnes text: Critical Thinking through Federalist Paper Explained

August 30 : Read the chapter on Critical Thinking and then answer questions about them.  Start discussing current events or things of interest.

September 6: Read the Chapters on Communicating on Sensitive Political Matters and the chapter on Origins then answer questions to bring to class.

September 13: Read the The Federalist Paper #51 and the Federalist Paper Explained, then answer questions

September 20:   First Test  Read the Constitution write down at least two questions to bring to class.

 

Part 2 Readings: Byrnes text: Chapters: U.S. Constitution through Rights of Citizens

September 27:  Read the Notes on the Constitution and Chapter on Federalism answer questions

Oct: 4: Read the Chapter on Democracy then answer questions.

Oct: 9: Complete draft of first critical thinking evaluation is due in Blackboard

Oct: 11:  Read Chapter on Rights of Citizens then answer questions.  Second Test 

 

Part 3 Readings: Byrnes text: Ideology through Rights of Citizens in Criminal Procedures

Oct: 18:  Read Chapters on Ideology and Political Parties then answer questions

Oct: 25:  Read Chapter on Polls, Programming and Campaigns then answer questions.

Final Withdrawal deadline to receive a W: March 22

Nov: 1: Read the chapter on the Federal Courts then answer the questions. 

Nov: 8:  Read the chapter on Rights of Citizens in Criminal Procedures then answer questions. Third Test 

Nov 12: Final draft of critical thinking paper due in Blackboard

Nov: 22  Read the chapter on Fiscal and Monetary Policy

Dec: 6: Read the chapter on External or International Policy then answer the questions
