VERBS
In English the INFINITIVE
is composed of two words: to + verb
eg: to speak, to write, to
read, to listen...
__ AR: hablar,
llamar, cantar, bailar.
__ ER: comer,
deber, beber, vender.
__ IR: vivir,
asistir, escribir, recibir.
Each infinitive ending
in Spanish has six possible forms for a particular tense.
For each tense there are six persons used as subject:
YO
: I, first person.
(When talking about yourself)
TÚ
: you, second person.
(familiar: when you address someone by their first name,
eg: Pedro, María, Carmen...)
UD.:
usted, you, second person. (polite: when you address someone by a title
name such as:
Mr., Mrs.,
Miss...)
ÉL
: he
ELLA:
she
NOSOTROS:
we (all male, or, male + female)
NOSOTRAS:
we (all female)
UDS. : ustedes, you (when
addressing several people)
ELLOS: they (male, or, male + female)
ELLAS:
they (all female)
Each pronoun has a
different ending in the PRESENT tense. A PRESENT tense is used to describe an action
done during the present time. In
English it is equivalent to: I
speak, I am speaking,
