THE IMPERFECT

The imperfect tense of a verb is used to:
- express repetitive /habitual action
- express on-going action
- describe weather, age, scenery, physical characteristics, emotions or feelings
- express a passive action
- describe the second part of indirect discourse (paraphrasing what someone
else said)
