Q.

What one thing do you wish someone had told you before you signed up for this class?

(Alternately:
What do you wish you already knew before starting this class?)

A.

how long web pages actually take to create.

A.

how to collaborate more effectively on assignments and discussions.

A.

that it was very fast paced for an intro class and that it was almost like a programming class.

A.

that we use notepad , basically through the entire course

A.

that I would learn so much more about creating web pages than I already knew.

A.

that I would have to spend so much time on it and still feel like I could take the course over again and learn a lot more.

A.

I didn't time manage that well so I had a lot to keep up with.

A.

what parts of webpage creation we would be covering. I was hoping for more on the design aspect.

A.

Javascripting, because I now understand it more, and it has helped me a lot with how to use it.

A.

the approximate amount of time that it would take to complete the course work. I found that I would spend literally 5-10 hours each week on class work (tutorial, reading, and assignment included).

Also of note, I am very lucky to be a nearly-completed Computer Networking major and already have a good knowledge of PC file structures, terms, and concepts (like FTP, etc). This class should definitely have a prereq like Intro to Microcomputers, or maybe even Intro to Programming.

A.

that this class was not web design which I signed up for but in the end I am glad that I took this course!

A.

it’s a good idea to start learning HTML before you take a course in it. I already knew the basics of HTML, but reading and learning a little bit of it helps a LOT before you take a course.

A.

that I would be more successful in my assignments if I had focused more on solidly learning the technical issues instead of trying to be too creative too early in the learning process.

A.

to love notepad for all its potential. txt files rule!

A.

how simple learning the beginning basics of HTML & XML would be.

A.

how much computer knowledge you were expected to already have coming into the course.

A.

that this class is nothing like any other programming/computer class and is really quite easy to grasp.

A.

I really wish that I was more ready at the beginning.

A.

Javascript.

A.

more english.......and more javascript.

A.

I wish someone would have taught me the basics beforehand, so I didn't have to spend time learning all of the easy stuff and instead I could have concentrated more on Javascript, which I had trouble with.
