Day 39 (4-22)     In section 6.3 do problems #1, 3, 15, 18, 19, 29.

 

Day 38 (4-16)     In section 6.2 do problems #2, 8, 36, 41.  Also, do problems 19 - 30 odd (just set-up the integral for the volume of the resulting solid).  Complete Handout #13 due on Wednesday April 22, 2009.  There is a special make-up homework assignment that is optional for those individuals who missed turning in a previous assignment.  This HW assignment is taken from the "Additional Problems Packet" as explained in the syllabus.  This optional make-up assignment is to do problems #58, 85, 106, 224, 234, 274 from the packet.  This optional HW assignment is due the day you take your final exam.  Study for TEST 4 next week.

 

Day 37 (4-13)     In section 6.1 do problems #5, 13, 14, 16, 19, 24, 27, 48.

 

Day 36 (4-09)     In section 5.4 do problems #3, 6, 9, 14, 25, 33, 35, 56, 60.  In section 5.5 do problems #37, 38, 47.

 

Day 35 (4-08)     In section 5.3 do problems #3, 7, 9, 13, 22, 23, 27, 29, 31, 35, 37, 52, 57. 

 

Day 34 (4-06)     In section 5.2 do problems #17, 23, 29, 41, 43, 45, 49, 50.  In section 5.1 do problems #18, 20.  Also complete Handout #12 for Wednesday April 8, 2009.

 

Day 33 (4-02)     In section 5.1 do problems #1, 3, 11, 15.  In section 5.2 do problems #5, 7, 9, 33, 35, 37.  Also complete Handout #11 for Monday April 6, 2009.

 

Day 32 (3-25)     In section 5.5 do problems #1, 3, 6, 11, 17, 19, 25, 29.

 

Day 31 (3-23)     In section 4.9 do problems #3, 5, 7, 11, 15, 17, 21, 23, 28, 35, 39, 41, 47, 56, 66, 67.  Complete Handout #10 for Wednesday April 1, 2009.  I suggest that you complete it before TEST 3 for practice.  Be sure to use the closed interval method for the handout. 

 

Day 30 (3-18)     In section 4.7 do problems #2, 3, 9, 13, 17, 30, 31, 33, 52.  Complete Handout #9 for Monday March 23, 2009.

 

Day 29 (3-17)     In section 4.5 do problems #12, 19.  Be accurate with your sketches labeling the important points on the graphs.

 

Day 28  (3-16)    In section 4.4 do problems #3, 4, 9, 11, 15, 17, 18, 19, 35, 41, 45, 51, 53.  Complete Handout #8 for Wednesday March 18, 2009.

Day 25  (2-26)    TEST DAY --  No Homework

 

Day 24  (2-25)    TEST DAY -- Review the Closed Interval Method on page 209 and apply it to problems 47, 49, 53, 55 from section 4.1.

 

Day 23  (2-23)    In section 4.1 do problems #5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 31, 35, 37, 41, 47, 49, 53, 55.  Complete Handout #6 for Wednesday February 25, 2009.

 

Day 22  (2-19)    In section 3.8 do problems #11, 21.  Finish Handout #5 for Monday.  Start reviewing for TEST 2. 

 

Day 21  (2-18)    In section 3.8 do problems #1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 27, 39.  Complete Handout #5 for Monday February 23, 2009.

 

Day 20  (2-16)     TEST 2 will be held in class on Feb. 25 and 26 covering sections 3.2 to 3.8.  Finish Handout #4 for Wednesday. 

 

Day 19  (2-16)     In section 3.6 do problems #21, 31.  In section 3.7 do problems #1, 5, 7, 8, 10.  Remember to complete Handout #4 (See Day 18). 

 

Day 18  (2-12)     In section 3.6 do problems #2, 3, 7, 11.  Complete Handout #4 for Wednesday February 18, 2009.

 

Day 17  (2-11)     In section 3.5 do problems #5, 19, 23, 24, 33, 49, 53, 54, 59, 61, 63, 65. 

 

Day 16  (2-10)     In section 3.4 do problems #1, 2, 3, 5, 9, 15, 21, 25, 30, 34.

 

Day 15  (2-09)     I extended the deadline for Handout #2 until Thursday February 12, 2009.  Complete Handout #3 for Thursday February 12, 2009 as well.  This means you have TWO handouts to that will be due that day. 

 

Day 14  (2-05)    Complete Handout #2.  This will be due on Monday February 9, 2009.  For part 3 you will need to use both the product and quotient rules.  Get caught up with section 3.3 homework.

 

Day 13  (2-03)    In section 3.3 do problems #29, 41, 49, 50, 57, 60, 61, 63, 67, 69, 71, 83, 89.  Study for TEST 1.  Time Management Tip: So that you don't fall behind in your work, you can do FOUR problems per day from now until next Monday and you will have completed all of section 3.3 homework by the start of next week.  We will be starting section 3.4 on Monday. 

 

Day 12  (2-02)    In section 3.3 do problems #2, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 18, 21.  Review for TEST 1.

 

Day 11  (1-29)    In section 3.2 do problems #6, 33, 35, 40, 51.  TEST 1 has been postponed to Wednesday and Thursday February 4 and 5, 2009.  This test will cover chapter 2 along with sections 3.1 and 3.2.  Section 2.4 will not be on the test.  Get caught up with all previous HW over the weekend.

 

Day 10  (1-28)    In section 3.2 do problems #1, 3, 4, 5, 19, 25.  

 

Day 9  (1-27)    In section 3.1 do problems #11, 15, 18, 21, 47.  Finish the handout from Day 8 to turn in.  Look on the calendar for TEST 1 coming up next week.  This test will cover chapter 2 (except section 2.4) and sections 3.1 and 3.2. 

 

Day 8  (1-26)    In section 2.5 do problems #4, 5, 19, 29, 37, 41.  In section 3.1 do problems #1, 3, 17, 19  Complete Handout #1.  This will be due on Wednesday January 28, 2009.

 

Day 7  (1-22)    In section 2.5 do problems #1, 7, 9, 17.  Get caught up with the previous HW over the weekend.

 

Day 6  (1-21)    In section 2.3 do problems #1, 18, 21, 23, 25, 29, 48.  For #18 use you will need to remember how to factor x^3 - 1.  If you don't remember try using synthetic division. 

 

Day 5  (1-20)    In section 2.3 do problems #10, 11, 13, 15, 17.  You may also attempt #58 for those of you who feel ambitious.

 

Days 3 and 4 (1-14 and 1-15)     In section 2.1 do problems #2, 5.  In section 2.2 do problems #5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 21.  Read examples 1, 5, 6, and 9 in section 2.3.

 

Day 2  (1-13)    No Homework

 

Day 1  (1-12)    Read examples 1 and 3 from section 2.1 for next class.  Fill out the Student Information Questionnaire by clicking on the adjacent link.  Print the Questionnaire, fill it out and bring to class with you tomorrow.
