Fact Sheet for Individualized Learning Students

Homework

Check your syllabus for a list of suggested homework problems. Do enough of them so that you feel you have mastered the material for the chapter. Check yourself with the review test.

Permission Slip

When you have worked through the homework and feel you are ready to take a test, take your homework to your instructor. Your instructor will give you a permission slip to take the test. You MUST have a permission slip to take a test, including the final exam.

Testing Center Hours

Once you have your permission slip, go to the testing center to take your test. You must have a picture ID. Also, there are TI-83 calculators available in the testing center for your use while taking a test. You can take your test any time the testing center is open. The testing center hours are:

FALL/SPRING

SUMMER

Monday - Thursday: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Monday - Thursday: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Friday: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Friday: 7:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Saturday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

These hours are posted on the bulletin board in your classroom.

Student Folders

Each student has their own folder which will be stored at the main IMC desk. All of your tests, labs, worksheets and/or projects will be kept in this folder. You must have a picture ID to access your folder and you may not take it out of the IMC area.

Test Grades

After you have taken a test and your teacher has graded it, your score on that test will be recorded in your student folder. You should also keep a record of your test grades in the appropriate place on your syllabus. You must pass each test (except the final) with a score of at least 70. If you do not pass on the first attempt, then you must re-take the test until you do pass the test or exhaust the forms of the test. See your syllabus for more details.

Withdrawal Deadline and Week Number

The withdrawal deadline is posted on the wall in your classroom. Make sure you make note of this date. Also, the week number of the semester is posted throughout the semester so you can keep track of your progress.

WP/WF

A WP is given in the class if you haven completed at least half of the material by the end of the semester. You will need to register and pay for the class again to finish the course. If you have not completed at least half of the material by the end of the semester, you will receive a WF in the class, even if you have passed the tests you have taken. SEE YOUR SYLLABUS FOR MORE DETAILS.

Incomplete

If you only have one test and the final left at the end of the semester, you may be eligible for an incomplete. If you receive an I in the course, you will not have to register or pay for the class again but you must finish the last test and the final by the deadline your instructor sets. See your instructor for more details.
