Personal Introduction

My name is Kurt Overhiser and this is my ninth year teaching at Valencia Community College.  I am originally from Rochester, New York.  I have an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Brigham Young University and an masters degree from The University of Florida.  Besides New York and Florida, I have lived in Utah, California, and Taiwan.  I love to travel and have been to many places.  Click HERE to see a picture of me by the Mendenhall glacier in Juneau, AK.  Besides traveling, I love to eat at nice trendy restaurants.  The Orlando area is great for this because of the plethora of restaurants here.  My favorite restaurants are those specializing in various ethnic foods.  If you can name a type of ethnic cuisine, chances are, I have probably tried it.

"Professor Overhiser is an excellent teacher.  He is willing to work with his students.  I learned a lot in his class and had fun at the same time.  If you are willing to put forth the effort to learn, Professor Overhiser will do everything in his power to help you understand math."

"Professor Overhiser is a great teacher.  His teaching style reflects his love for math and makes learning new material fun and interesting.  He is extremely helpful both in and out of class.  His tests are fair and reasonable. I look forward to attending every one of his classes."
