Day 23 (06-12-2008)     Study for the FINAL EXAM on Monday!!!  Here are the questions and answers for the Jeopardy Review Handout for you to peruse.

 

Day 22 (06-11-2008)     In section 7.2 do problems #9, 21, 29, 31, 47, 49.  In section 7.4 do problems #17, 23 (For #17 and 23 just find the horizontal and vertical asymptotes as well as the x-intercepts. Don't worry about a graph.)   

 

Day 21 (06-10-2008)     In section 2.3 do problems #7, 11, 13, 17, 34, #37 (parts c. and d. only), 51, 53, 58.  In section 2.2 do problem #26 (this time give an explicit formula for each of the six graphs as shown AND state the domain and range of each).      

 

Day 20 (06-09-2008)    TEST DAY

 

Day 19 (06-05-2008)    In section 2.6 do problems #5, 19, 25, 39, 43, 61.  In section 2.2 do problems #41, 43.  STUDY for TEST 3 on Monday.

 

Day 18 (06-04-2008)    In section 5.1 do problems # 3, 5, 19, 25, 35, 43.  In section 2.2 do problems #25, 59, 61.

 

Day 17 (06-03-2008)     In section 6.5 do problems #3, 5, 9, 33, 43, 51.  In section 6.6 do problems #15, 17, 19, 25.  When you do your HW, make sure to use the sign chart that was shown today in class for the quadratic inequalities. 

 

Day 16 (06-02-2008)    In section 6.3 do problems #3, 7, 15, 27, 29, 33.  In section 6.4 do problems 5, 7, 21 and 23 (skip part b.), 25 and 27 (just put in vertex form).

 

Day 15 (05-29-2008)    In section 2.1 do problems #5, 9, 17, 19, 41.  In section 6.1 do problem #45 (part c. is important to be able to do).  In section 6.2 do problems #27, 31, 33, 39 (parts c. and d. are important), AND #41 (be able to do this problem by yourself without looking at your notes).

 

Day 14 (05-28-2008)    In section 6.1 do problems #3, 11, 17, 21, 23, 25, 31, 33, 41, 43 (skip parts d. and e.)

 

Day 13 (05-27-2008)    TEST DAY

 

Day 12 (05-22-2008)    In section 5.2 do problems #5, 31, 35, 41, 43, 45, 49.  In section 5.3 do problems #7, 23, 45.  Study for TEST 2 next Tuesday.  Have a safe holiday weekend!  

 

Day 11 (05-21-2008)    In section 4.5 do problems #9, 15, 19 (part b. only), 23 (part a. only), 25 (parts a. and b. only), 27, 28, 29.  I also posted a Point Plotting and Regression Handout that some of you indicated would be nice to have.

 

Day 10 (05-20-2008)    In section 4.4 do problems #7, 15, 21, 23, 25, 27, 33, 39, 41, 45.  I made a change.  Do #41 instead of #43.  This change is highlighted in RED.

 

Day 9 (05-19-2008)     In section 4.3 do problems #1, 3, 11, 15, 21, 23, 29, 31, 39, 53, 55, 57.  

 

Day 8 (05-15-2008)     In section 4.2 do problems #1, 3, 23, 27, 31, 37, 39, 41.  Review your notes. We did some problems on the board that are remarkably similar to those assigned here.

 

Day 7 (05-14-2008)    TEST DAY

 

Day 6 (05-13-2008)    In section 4.1 do problems #41, 47, 49, 55, 57, 69.  Study for TEST 1 tomorrow.  Remember to bring your textbook that you will need for the test along with your graphing calculator. 

 

Day 5 (05-12-2008)    In section 4.1 do problems #1, 3, 7 (part a is linear growth, part b is exponential growth), 11 (also, what is the % increase per week?), 15, 33, 37, 61 (Francine is NOT correct.  Where did she go wrong?)    

 

Day 4 (05-08-2008)    In section 1.5 do problems #5, 11 (read the light grey box on page 80 for clues on how to do this problem), 17 (Hint: plug 8 in for x and -5 in for f(x) and solve for m), 21, 27, 29, 41, 54.  In section 1.6 do problems 1, 3, 15, 33.  You may want to review the calculator procedures for finding the regression line in example 6 on page 99.  On Monday we will start the material found in chapter 4.  If you are behind in your HW get caught up this weekend. 

 

Day 3 (05-07-2008)    In section  1.2 do problems #17, 18, 27, 31, 45(a, b, c only), 59, 68.  In section 1.3 do problems 9, 19 (parts parts a, b, c only), 21, 41 (Read the directions for 41 carefully.  You will also need to use the TRACE button and the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys on your graphing calculator).

 

Day 2 (05-06-2008)    In section 1.1 do problems #11, 19, 25, 49.  In section 1.4 do problems #1, 3, 17 (parts ii only), 21, 23, 33. For #3 you will need to know that 5280 feet = 1 mile.
 

Day 1 (05-05-2008)    Familiarize yourself with the class website and syllabus.  Read the 4-step procedure as found on page 11.  In section 1.1 do problems 13, 17, 33, 35.  In section 1.4 do problems 11, 26, 27, 28.
