10/19/2006     Quiz #4 is due on Tuesday October 24, 2006.  Please do problem #24 (both parts) on page 278 for this quiz.  To receive full credit for part b, you need to write a few of sentences explaining how you made your determination.  As a hypothetical example, suppose you say the average cost decreases as the number of electricians increases, then you need to explain, in detail, how you came to that conclusion.  This exercise really gets you to think critically and analytically about the relationship between the average cost function and the marginal cost function.   Critical thinking skills are what I meant when I talked about quantitative literacy in class.
