Welcome to the General Biology II (BSC1011C) course. This course is a continuation of the two part freshman biology program. This course, and the accompanying laboratory, provides a foundation for future advanced biology courses and is primarily intended for those students who plan on majoring in Biology.
This course focuses on biological systems at the organismal and supraorganismal levels with an emphasis on the unity and diversity of life, and organismal structure and function. Topics that will be covered include Darwinism and the origin of life, the diversity and origin of Eukaryotes, evolution and diversity of the three domains of life, animal and plant morphology, reproduction, development of animal behavior, population biology and ecology.
