Biology Place
Sponsored by Peregrine Publishers and Addison-Wesley/Longman, this site is headed
up by Neil Campbell, the author of your textbook. It is password protected as
access is by payment of a fee. If you have purchased a new copy of the textbook,
you should have received a certificate with your individual access information
for the Biology Place. If you purchased a used textbook you can purchase a separate
access certificate from the campus bookstore.
The
Biology Project
This site is located at the University of Arizona and contains a lot of information
and on-line tutorials and quizzes.
Access
Excellence
This site is sponsored by Genentech, a major biotechnology company. This site
covers all aspects of biotechnology and has some useful links to other sites where
you can read the original research papers of scientists like Mendel, the founder
of modern gentics, and Watson and Crick's paper outlining their model of DNA.
The
Tree of Life
The Tree of Life is a project designed to contain information about the phylogenetic
relationships and characteristics of organisms, to illustrate the diversity and
unity of living organisms, and to link biological information available on the
Internet in the form of a phylogenetic navigator.

Biology Pages
These pages are maintained by Dr. John Kimball, who is the author of a biology
text book called Biology. This page is a good resource, with an extenssive glossary
as well as mini essays on virtually all the important topics in modern biology.

Human Genome Project Home Page
If you are curious about the human genome project, which is attempting to determine
the complete DNA base sequence contained in the 46 human chromosomes, this is
the place for you.
