Grades:

  • Exams: Four examinations will be administered during the semester. The exams will cover the textbooks and classroom information. Each exam will consist of multiple choice questions.

  • Consultations/Research Paper/Presentation: Each student will select one topic from the syllabus that they are most interested in researching. Before researching the topic the student will make an appointment and attend a consultation with the professor (5/159). An appointment will last approximately twenty minutes. Appointments will be scheduled or assigned by February 5th, 2004.

Prior to the consultation the student will read the chapter related to the topic that they have selected/assigned. During the consultation the student ant the professor will discuss research options.

 The student will research the topic and write a five page, double-spaced paper, in twelve-point font, utilizing APA style, with at least five references. Each student will develop a 10 - 20 minute PowerPoint Presentation for the topic. Students may elect to present the PPT with the instructor's permission (more credit will be assigned for students who make the presentation).
 

  • Extra-credit: Thirty points of extra-credit may be earned for students who are punctual, rarely miss class, and actively participate in the class (verbal or nonverbal).

Academic honesty Expected of all students on all class work.
Withdrawal March 26th, 2004 is the deadline for withdrawing from the course without penalty.
