Human Sexuality

Human Sexuality, SOP 2772, Tuesday/Thursday, 3 credits  

Course Description: Study of sexuality with emphasis on subjects such as identity and behavior, characteristics of sexual beings and meaning of sexuality. Includes study of sexual health, sexual decision making, and strategies for dealing with conception, sexually transmitted diseases and sexual coercion and exploitation.

Grades

 

Examinations Five examinations will be administered during the semester. Each exam may consist of multiple-choice and short answer questions 
Papers Each student will write three application papers this semester. The purpose of each paper wil be to evaluate your ability to apply psychological principles to the assignment (grammar, spelling, and formatting will be graded).

The paper will be 1½ - 2 pages in length, double-spaced with twelve point font. Studentw will receive a maximum of thirty-three and one-third points for each paper. The cumulative score for the papers will be equal to one examination score.

Extra-credit Students with excellent attendance, participation and timely arrival to class may receive up to twenty-five percent added to their final exam.

Make-up exams  All make-up examinations will be administered at the Testing Center, Building 7, Room 219. Exams may be taken between December 2nd, 2003.
Attendance Seven absences will result in a letter grade reduction in your final grade or a "withdrawal" (W) from the course (professor's decision).
Academic honesty  Expected of all students on all class work.
Withdrawal October 31, 2003 is the deadline for withdraw from the course without penalty.
