Higher Learning and the Triple Discipline

The Buddhist Triple Discipline included Morality (sila), Meditation (dhyana), and Wisdom (prajna).

Morality involved following the precepts of the Buddha.

Meditation was the exercise that trained the individual in tranquilization.

Wisdom was the power to penetrate into an individual's self-nature (Suzuki, 1996).
