Fetal monitoring:
auscultating through Doppler or fetoscope, after Leopold’s Maneuvers to
determine position. FHR most clearly
heard at fetal back. Figure 16-6.

Electronic fetal monitoring
produces continuous tracing. Can be external through US. A tranducer is
placed on maternal abdomen. The transducer produces sound waves which bounce
off the fetal heart and picked up by electronic
monitor. Differentiate between Maternal and fetal HR.
