Test Proctoring Guidelines
The Mathematics
Department has established guidelines and procedures by which students
enrolled in online Mathematics Courses may take proctored examinations
outside Valencia College.
- Proctored exams
must be taken and supervised at an official testing center at a
community college, college or university, high school, or other
certified educational institution.
- The student is
responsible for arranging with the proctoring testing center.
- The proctor must
confirm the arrangements with the student by contacting through
e-mail the instructor giving the tests. The e-mail must come from
the institution’s testing center, and must include the proctor’s
name, title, and the institution phone number.
- The student is
responsible for paying to the proctoring institution any
testing/proctoring fees, including costs for returning completed
exams to the professor.
- The student is
responsible for carefully reading the online syllabus and carefully
following the test deadlines. The deadline for taking the Final
Exam will be one week prior to the one posted on the syllabus. This
will ensure that the Final will be delivered on time, get graded,
and the student will get a grade for the course.
- When proctoring
a test, the proctor must identify the student taking the test with a
photo ID.
- The proctor must
notify instructor if the exam procedure has been compromised.
- The student must
inform the instructor by e-mail immediately after taking a test.
- Once the student
takes a test, the proctor will mail the exam to the instructor in an
official institutional envelope to the following address:
Dr. Agatha Shaw
Professor of Mathematics
Valencia College
East Campus MC3-16
701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail
Orlando, FL 32825
- If a student
fails to follow these guidelines, she/he will be required to take
the exams at a Valencia College testing center.
In addition, it is the student's
responsibility to remind the proctor to send a confirmation e-mail to
the instructor five to seven days before the proctored exam, so that
the instructor would forward the necessary proctoring instructions to
the proctor for that exam.
Should you have any
