You may need to download plug-ins (connections) in order to use academic.com.  The computer labs 1-131, 1-130, and 2-246 at Valencia College-Osceola have the plug-ns installed.  If you want to access the tutorials at home, the plugs-ins are available free to download on the Internet automatically when you try to enter the content tutorials for the first time, but if you do not have a high speed online connection, it will take a long time.  It is recommended that you buy a $3.00 CD that will install the plug ins automatically.  This CD can be purchased to save time and hassle at the Business Office (1-155).  The plug-ins CD is installed by placing the CD in the CD drive, and it will load automatically; then, follow the directions on the screen.  There are also directions enclosed with the CD.
