6. The perimeter of a rectangle is 172 centimeters.  If the length of the rectangle is 14 centimeters more than the width, find its dimensions.

7. The distance across a round table through the center is 18 feet.  Find its surface area to nearest feet.  Use = 3.14

8.      If the smaller of two consecutive odd integers is tripled, the result is 13 more         than twice the larger of the two integers. Find the two integers. 

9.   Find the measure of the angle whose supplement is 35° more than twice its complement.

10. (2x+10)° and (4x-6)° are vertical angles.  Find the measure of each angle.

 11.  The teepees constructed by the Blackfoot Indians were cone-shaped tents made of long poles and animal hide, about 10 feet high and 15 feet across.  Estimate the volume of a teepee with these dimensions.

 

12. Two search-and-rescue teams leave camp at the same time looking for a lost boy.  The first team heads North and the second team heads South.  If the first team travels at three miles per hour faster than the second team and they need to cover a distance of 21 miles between them in 3 hours, find their speeds.
