Professional Commitment Reflection

Learning outcome three allowed me to be aware, understand, and expand my knowledge on college policies and legal issues regarding copyright issues at Valencia College.  I found it really important to research this information because my purpose in creating the active learning notes was to help students learn and be successful in MAT0024C Beginning Algebra.  I never thought about the issues of copyright, ownerships, rights of use, and other legal issues involved in creating a document and distributing it to my own college or other educational institutions.  Learning about legal issues in education was a very eye opening experience.  I am comforted to know that Valencia College has clear and specific policies and a resource person in Bill Mullowney.  Bill Mullowney was very friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions.  He even told me that if I ever have any questions, to feel free to contact him.  I really appreciated that offer, and it shows that we are really supported here at Valencia College.
