Learning Outcome

As I create the active study notes for MAT0024C Beginning Algebra, I would like to know the copyright issues involved with the document that I produce at Valencia College.  I will research the Valencia College policies on copyright and discuss the issues with Valencia College’s VP for Policy & General Counsel.

Insights gained from sources consulted

1)  Insight gained from the actual copyright policy: I was able to learn Valencia’s policy and the very specific policies and definitions for what is and what is not owned by the College.  The policy is very detailed and explains ownership principles and standards, revenue distribution, intellectual control, teacher and student works, and other issues dealing with copyright issues.

2)  Insight gained from a meeting with VP for Policy & General Counsel, Bill Mullowney: he explained the copyright policies of the document I have created and the rights I have in terms of distributing the document.
